Overview

Megan Keane is an associate with the law firm Goldberg Simpson. Her practice primarily includes business and commercial litigation, foreclosure, bankruptcy, real estate matters and family law.

As a Louisville native, Megan received both her B.S. in Political Science from the University of Louisville in 2007 and her J.D. from the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law in 2011. Megan also attended the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law’s summer abroad program, which held law classes in Ireland and Wales. Megan was admitted to the Kentucky Bar in 2011 and admitted to practice in Indiana in 2012. Megan is also licensed in the Eastern and Western Districts of Kentucky and the Southern District of Indiana.

While in law school Megan received her limited license to practice law and worked in the Louisville Law Clinic representing low income individuals in Divorce, Domestic Violence and Forcible Detainer actions. Megan also served as a summer intern for the Kentucky Court of Appeals for the Honorable Thomas B. Wine. She was selected to serve as a member on the law school’s Honor Council and the Student Bar Association. During law school Megan was also selected to be a Pupil Member of the Brandeis Inns of Court, an organization dedicated to promoting professionalism and civility I the legal profession.

Megan has served as a pro bono attorney with the Legal Aid Domestic Violence Advocacy Program, as a member of the Citizens Foster Care Review Board and has received training with the Kentucky Bar Association to serve as a Guardian ad Litem. Megan is active with the Kentucky Bar Association's Young Lawyer Division serving on its Executive Committee since 2014. In addition, Megan is an active member of the Junior League of Louisville where she helped plan numerous events for local charitable organizations.

The Commercial Banking, Real Estate & Business Transactions group serves the Kentucky real estate market leveraging their extensive experience in commercial real estate development and transactions, commercial financing, workouts and restructurings. They serve Kentucky financial institutions, including large national banking associations as well as smaller state and local lending institutions, and to all types of borrowing entities, as well as negotiating, drafting and handling loan transactions from Small Business Administration (SBA) loans to large, complex loans. The Business Litigation practice area provides all manner of legal representation in business disputes, including shareholder relationship disputes, partnership disputes and other dispute resolution in Louisville, Lexington, Frankfort, Bowling Green and Owensboro, Kentucky, as well as in all Kentucky cities.
