Goldberg Simpson is pleased to announce Rudy Ellis, Aida Almasalkhi, & Christopher Bailey have joined the firm as Associates.
About Aida Almasalkhi
Aida is from Louisville, but she received her B.A. from the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Kentucky. Thereafter, Aida earned her J.D. and graduated with a Certificate of Distinction in Litigation Skills from the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law.
While in law school, Aida served as a summer intern for the U.S. District Court of the Eastern District of Louisiana for the Honorable Ivan Lemelle, the Jefferson County Attorney’s Office, and the U.S. Attorney’s Office of the Western District of Kentucky. She was also selected to serve as a member of the University of Louisville Law Review, a Pupil Member of the Brandeis Inn of Court, and a Brandeis Diversity Ambassador. She was on the winning team of the Kentucky Trial Tournament in 2014, received the Edward M. Post Award for excellence in litigation skills, and was awarded the Kentucky Judges Association Scholarship in recognition of her demonstrated skill in trial advocacy.
Ms. Almasalkhi was admitted to the Kentucky Bar in September of 2016.
About Rudy Ellis
Rudy J. Ellis III is an associate with Goldberg Simpson. His practice primarily includes Insurance Defense and Business and Commercial Litigation.
Rudy is a Louisville native and graduated from St. Xavier High School in 2008. He graduated with a B.A. in Journalism from Indiana University (Bloomington) in 2012 and received his J.D. from the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law in 2016.
While in law school, Rudy received his limited practice license to practice law in the Brandeis Entrepreneurship Clinic and counseled MBA students on various legal issues pertaining to start-up companies. During his third year, Rudy was elected the Student Bar Association President and helped the school gain national recognition from the American Bar Association by winning two awards at the Annual Meeting. He was also the recipient of both the Robert C. Jayes Memorial Award and the Omicron Delta Kappa Honor Society Award by the Brandeis School of Law. Additionally, Rudy was a member of the Louisville Law Review, Moot Court Board, and currently serves as director for the CGI Charitable Giving Fund.
Rudy was admitted to the Kentucky Bar in September of 2016.
About Chris Bailey
Chris Bailey is an Associate with Goldberg Simpson. His practice pimarily includes commercial litigation, employment law, and real estate transactions.
Christopher Bailey is a Louisville native and graduated from Ballard High School in 2002. He graduated with a BA in history from Indiana University Southeast in 2009, with the honor of being student of the year in his department. His writing’s on the Soviet Union were published in the IUS undergraduate journal. Choosing again to stay local, Christopher attended the University of Louisville Brandeis school of law and completed his JD in the spring of 2016.
While in law school, Christopher continued his employment at Goldberg Simpson, working as a clerk and a legal assistant. After finding out about the plight of abandoned cemeteries in the commonwealth, Christopher wrote an article on the topic, one which was published in UL’s journal of animal and environment law. He is still interested in the topic, and plans to dedicate some of his practice to this obscure and challenging area of law.
Chris was admitted to the Kentucky Bar in September of 2016.
